S T O P
A moment to pause.
A different way forward.
Not every moment gives us time to think.
A difficult conversation.
An unexpected setback.
A decision made under pressure.
Sometimes our reactions happen before we've had the chance to understand what we're feeling or consider what comes next.
STOP is a simple, four step practice designed to create space between what happens and how we respond.
It doesn't remove the difficulty or promise to change the circumstances.
It offers something we can influence.
Our next response.
The STOP Method
S — Slow down
Take a moment before reacting. Give yourself space to notice what's happening.
T — This is temporary
Remind yourself that this moment, however difficult,
is not the whole of your life. Circumstances and feelings can change.
O — Observe
Pay attention to what you're thinking, feeling and assuming. Consider what is within your influence and what may be outside it.
P — Proceed with purpose
Choose your next step with greater awareness of what matters, rather than responding on impulse.

Small pauses. Meaningful choices.
STOP - because we don't always have control over what happens, but where we have a choice, we can be more intentional about how we respond.
